Quercetin Bromelain

Quercetin Bromelain supplies the flavonoid quercetin extracted from seed pods of the Dimorphandra mollis plant. Flavonoids are potent protective nutrients found in many plants and foods. Bromelain is an enzyme derived from pineapple.

Quercetin helps ensure appropriate immune response (helps modifiy the body’s response to antigentic substances), inhibits formation of free radicals and promotes circulatory health in part by supporting the integrity of small blood vessels. Bromelain complements quercetin for appropriate immune response and cardiovascular health, while also promoting joint comfort.

Benefits:

  • Supports healthy immune system
  • Supports healthy cardiovascular system
  • Supports healthy respiratory function
  • Natural anti-inflammatory
  • Supports allergic response

Support for a healthy cardiovascular system
Some of the key research suggests that quercetin supports the function of the endothelium, the interface of the vascular system where oxygen and carbon dioxide are exchanged. Quercetin has been highlighted as a compound that holds potential in helping to maintain the normal structure and function of endothelial tissue.

Support for respiratory function
Quercetin showed a propensity for helping respiratory function of guinea pigs when challenged with a substance to which the guinea pigs had been sensitized. Additionally, a recent mouse model has shown that quercetin may support healthy airway function by maintaining a healthy balance of immune system cells within the respiratory system.

Allergic response
Quercetin helps down regulate the allergic response by reducing histamine release. Supports mast cell and basophil integrity.

Bromelain - In vitro trials have shown bromelain can alter immune cell secretion of cytokines in a way that would be favourable for maintaining balance in the immune system. Several clinical studies have revealed the effects of bromelain on the musculoskeletal system, joint health, circulation and respiratory health.
